These two holiday accommodations (a studio and a flat) are located in a recently renovated house (2015) in the historical centre of Montafia.
Outside, you will have a 1500 m² garden at your disposal. The west side of the garden offers a beautiful view of the Sanctuary of Don Bosco, the hill of Turin and the Alps; you can also admire beautiful sunsets from here. The south side of the garden offers a splendid view of the church square of San Dionigi. The north side of the garden borders an old wall. The sunlit wall stores heat and ensures a mild climate in the immediate vicinity after sunset, even in early spring and late autumn. In summer, the wall cavities are filled with caper bushes and their beautiful flowers. Finally, on the east side you will find the paved access ramp and the gate. In the garden, you will find some equipped areas where you can enjoy your breakfast. You are also welcome to sample the fruit trees in the garden. Public parking is available in the nearby square. We recommend parking there because the access roads to the old town are narrow.
Flat 2 This approx. 65 m² flat is located on the first floor and has a bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200 cm), a bedroom with two single beds (90 x 200 cm), a bathroom with a large shower and a living room with a comfortable sofa bed (80 x 190 cm). The living room also includes a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and refrigerator. Outside, there is a terrace equipped for outdoor dining. Both accommodations are equipped with underfloor heating. The house is well insulated and pleasantly cool. Wireless Internet access (WLAN, free of charge) is available.
Montafia is a small, typically Piedmontese municipality of about 900 inhabitants, which has managed to preserve the authenticity of the past. In the small village there is a square with a bar/trattoria where locals gather on Monday, market day, to animatedly discuss the previous day's football matches. In Montafia you will find several grocery shops, a pharmacy, a bank, a post office, etc. In the immediate vicinity of Montafia, there are small Romanesque churches to discover. Three of these churches can be found within a two-kilometre radius. Montafia's terrain is inviting for nature walks or bicycle rides. There is no shortage of riding stables, small lakes for fishing and agritourisms for unforgettable food and wine tours. The city of Asti is about 20 km from the holiday accommodation. In September, festive events take place here. Between November and December, the truffle season, numerous food and wine events continue to take place in the area. The property is completely surrounded by walls. The owners live about 100 metres from the house, but not on the property. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Within the property, the owners run a small shop selling handicrafts and gift items (special wrought-iron jewellery, lamps made from dried gourds, etc., as well as typical local products such as wine, honey, jams and hazelnuts). The shop is partially adjacent to the house where the holiday accommodation is located.
