Positive: The apartment itself was nice, well located, and met our needs once we were finally able to get in.

Negative: We arrived at 5pm the earliest you can check in which is quite late and found the check-in process to be a complete ordeal. We completed the online check-in through Booking.com ahead of arriving but received no actual instructions on how to access the apartment. When we called the number listed on Booking.com, we were told to contact someone else instead. We rang three times with no answer before eventually being sent the check-in details over WhatsApp. When we arrived we found the apartment was still dirty and uncleaned from the previous guests. Despite the already late check-in time, the host’s response was nothing more than a quick “sorry” on WhatsApp, as if that alone made the situation acceptable. She said cleaning would take an hour and that she’d message once it was done—but we had to chase her ourselves. Finally, at 7:15pm, she let us know it was ready. The whole process was unprofessional and unacceptable. Guests should not be left waiting well into the evening to access a place they’ve booked and paid for, and a casual apology message does not make up for hours of lost time. When we asked for compensation, we were ignored. To make matters worse, the bathroom regularly gave off a sewage/dirty nappy smell, which made the stay unpleasant.

Summary: Generally a nice stay but a shame about the delayed check in due to it being dirty and the smell in the bathroom.
