Torre Lapillo is known for its soft sandy beach and crystal-clear waters. The beach’s gentle slope makes it ideal for children and elderly visitors. Further down the Ionian coast, the historic town of Gallipoli (35 minutes) is a very popular tourist destination during the summer months. In Greek, Gallipoli means “beautiful city” and the town does not disappoint. The town’s ancient walls soar over the harbour and fishing port. There is a daily fish market where if you go early you can pick up the freshest catch of the day.
