Spacious 5 bedroom/4 bathroom villa, with private pool, furnished sun terraces, WIFI & satellite TV situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains and National Park. Our villa is located in a private residential area 2 km outside the unspoilt Spanish town of Padul and 15 minutes from the beautiful historic City of Granada. Santa Clara golf course is just 5 minutes away and the surrounding area also gives access to the beaches of the Costa Tropical, the mountain villages of the Alpujarras and the ski resort of the Sierra Nevada (35 minutes drive). The house has 3 floors plus underground car parking. On the ground floor: spacious lounge with access to the terrace and outdoor dining, a modern fully fitted kitchen and laundry room, twin bedroom and full bathroom. On the first floor: 3 double bedrooms and two full bathrooms (one en-suite). Access to the third floor via a spiral staircase: large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, also includes a double futon bed/settee.

Summary: 3 families spent 12 days in the property. It had several issues: -Access to the property was through the garage gates, as the main ones were faulty and cannot be open. A quite dirty garage welcomes you, where the property manager explained that the water pump that supplies the tank for the house fails but that she had discovered that unplugging and plugging it back normally worked. With the use of water restricted to certain hours of the day, if the pump failed during them, there would not be water during the day, which happened to us -The furniture, beds and mattresses, was old and warn, nothing luxury or modern. The main bedroom bed was damaged -There were visible poor repairs, like holding air conditioning grids with scotch tape. One of the shower heads had been fixed using glue. It failed after its first use -The property was not completely cleaned when we arrived. We had to mop all the terrace as it was sticky with rests of what seemed to be ice cream -The external lights were not working, making the swimming pool area dangerous at night. It took two days to get them fixed -The air conditioning in the bedroom downstairs was not working. It only was introducing warm air with a strange smell which made sleeping there quite difficult and disgusting. The property manager came to look at it but did not fix anything -Some of the shutters in some bedroom had to be closed from outside as they would not work. The main bedroom one could not be open -Cable TV was offered as included but was not there -The internet, when working, was poor to say least. Video calls or watching Netflix was impossible, for example -Some appliances (like the iron), were not in a great condition, being dangerous -The kitchen was advertised as fully equipped but was lacking basic kitchen appliances with a really poor fridge -The swimming pool water was murky. It improved slightly after advising the maintenance crew, but two of the kids developed a severe bacterial stomach flu while we were there that required hospitalisation After leaving, we received a mail from the owner announcing substantial additional charges (replacing the shower head that had been previously poorly repaired, removing one bag of waste and replacing an architrave and hinge on a door which failed due to wind). Our request for a backup for the charges was ignored and they were automatically applied. Summary: very expensive villa, you don´t get what is promised, maintenance problems and a poor management.
