Ancient country house located in a strategic position at the base of the Mainarde mountain massif. Precisely because of its location, it was chosen to establish command, first by the Germans and later by the Allies during the Second World War. In memory of this, the large fireplace in the lounge was built on the iron base of a German mortar. From here you can easily reach the many places of naturalistic, historical and archaeological interest of this small, splendid and little-known region. A few minutes by car you can cool off from the summer heat by immersing yourself in the waters of Lake Castel s. Vincenzo, nestled at the foot of the Mainarde. Here the famous Abbey of s. Vincenzo with the crypt of Epifanio. Numerous paths that wind through the forests
inhabited by a rich wildlife: bears, wolves, deer, roe deer, eagles, to name a few. The magic of these places inspired the impressionist painter Charles Moulin who lived here for a long hermitage. Half an hour by car, the Samnite theater of Pietrabbondante, the archaeological site of Altilia, the villages of Upper Molise with Agnone Capractta. The ski resort of Roccaraso is only 35 minutes away. These are just some of the potential of the place.
The house is spread over two floors connected by an internal staircase with a children's gate.
1st floor: living room with sofa bed for two, large fireplace with various barbecue grills, access to the garden; large rustic well-equipped kitchen; comfortable double bedroom; bathroom with bidet and shower. From the kitchen there is access to a service courtyard (with comfortable covered drying rack) which is only sporadically shared as a passage with a small house adjacent to the property. But everything is very private.
2nd floor: kitchen with corner fireplace (suitable for barbecue) and access to the terrace; 3 large, bright and comfortable bedrooms: one with a double bed; one with a double bed plus a single bed; a room with a single bed.
On the street level, the car can be accessed from the garden (where the patio is located) which, via a short uphill path, leads to the olive grove that surrounds the house at the back and connects to the large terrace.
